Christmas - A Festival of Love and Sacrifice

Christmas is one of the most popularly celebrated festivals. It has become an international festival sharing Christmas greetings, sweets, and gifts and a visit to the neighborhood church or temple.  Celebrated on the 25th of December each year, it is a global celebration when all offices, schools, and colleges are closed as a holiday throughout the world.

As all of us are aware, Christmas is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Jesus. He was born as a savior of all people to enlighten them from their innocence and to save them from committing sins or mistakes. And to protect them from evil forces. It is the love of mankind and the need to uplift them from their ignorance; and, to protect them from all bad elements that made Jesus take birth in this world. He sacrificed himself for their good and thereafter relived again to guide them throughout their life.

According to the traditional belief, Christ was born to the Virgin Mary in the Palestinian city of Bethlehem, near South Jerusalem on the midnight of 24-25 December. As she had no room to keep him, she placed him in a manger of a cattle shed. Angels proclaimed the child as the savior of all people. And hearing this, the nearby shepherds reached him to adore him and glorify him.

So, traditional celebrations of most Roman Catholics and Anglicans start from the late evening hours before the midnight of 24th December to celebrate the birth of Jesus. These celebrations are known as Holy Night and Midnight Mass celebrations. On this occasion, the Lord's table is decorated with an Advent Wreath. Advent Wreath is one round garland made up of green branches and flowers which is placed on a white cloth on the table with a  big white candle in the center of the wreath. The white candle resembles the Christ Candle. Then, it is surrounded by other small candles. The participants sing the Holy Night and Midnight Mass carols or songs glorifying Child Jesus and Holy Mother Mary.

On Christmas Eve, many traditional believers observe fast till evening and they take food only after citing the first star in the evening sky symbolizing the star of Bethlehem. They prepare meatless dishes numbering twelve items. But most others take meat dishes also. It varies from belief to belief and region to region. They celebrate this occasion with their family members and friends and relatives also. After viewing the star, they take food and assemble again for Midnight Mass. The whole night is passed with divine chantings and prayers.

All houses, churches, and offices are beautifully decorated for this festival from the 24th evening itself. During dining, they decorate the table holistically. The table is covered with a white tablecloth commemorating the swaddling clothes of Child Jesus when he was born. A large white candle is placed on the table and next to it the round loaf of bread symbolizing the Christ Bread of Life. Hay is also spread on one side by some people to resemble the manger of the cattle shed in Bethlehem in which the Baby Jesus was kept. Others put hay in a corner of the room as decoration.

The next day morning, The Divine Liturgy or The Holy Mass is celebrated. People gather in churches wearing new clothes and observe the Holy Mass Prayers glorifying the great sacrifice and rebirth of Jesus Christ. It is a holy prayer recited by the Priest as well as all people assembled there in a systematic way. Their heart, eyes, and mouth are fully devoted at the Altar. After the prayers, they greet each other with the Kiss of Peace saying "Christ is Born" to each other. The greeted person will reply with the words "Glorify Him". On returning home, they distribute sweets and gifts among their circles and enjoy the day with games and movies, etc.

The most popular trends of celebrating Christmas nowadays are to wear new clothes, decorate homes beautifully with lights and colors and with a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree, and preparation of several types of food dishes, distribution of greeting cards and sweets to friends and circles, and enjoyment on the whole day. Children are the happiest on this occasion as they receive many gifts from their parents. It is believed that Santa Claus comes in the midnight and leaves great gifts to good children. But, nowadays, we know that it is the parents who place the gifts to the children on behalf of Santa Claus.

"Wish You All A MERRY CHRISTMAS"

YEAH... !!! I AM ALIVE !!! The Mayan Calendar Fuss

Yeah, I am safe and intact.

I have survived this Dooms Day also.

 How Lucky Am I !!!

Nothing happened to me in spite of all those predictions about the end of this world.

Previously also, I survived the millennium apocalypse and now, the Mayan apocalypse.

And, be brave. Each one of you can survive any type of apocalypse if you are positive and believe in the powers of your innate soul as well as the powers of the Almighty always there to uplift you.

The other day, my son asked whether I wrote anything on the Mayan calendar. At that time, I dismissed it as a silly topic. But, later I thought, why not write on that fuss. I should follow the mob.

Ours is a mob culture. If people around you talk about something, you must be one of them, if you are to be there.

Prophecies regarding the end of the world have come many times.

The last time, it was in 2000 when every corner of the world was filled with doubts of whether one will wake up to see the sunrise on 1-1-2000.

But, everything went normal and nothing happened. There were other doubts regarding computer workings coming to the halt. But that was also solved by prior steps taken for uninterrupted transmission of the data from 31-12-1999 to 1-1-2000, without experiencing any problem.

Now, this time, it was the turn of the Mayan calendar predicting that the world would end on 21-12-2012.

But, it too has proved false. It was simply a rumor circulated by some people who believed that the calendar was built with the assumption that the world will last for 5200 years only when it was designed more than 3000 years B.C.

Many Chinese and Russian people also believed in this theory along with other countries' people and were making preparations for the apocalypse. But survivors of Mayan culture themselves dismissed the assumption as false.

The Mayan Culture

The Mayan culture flourished during the period of 250 A.D. to 900 A.D. in the region of Central America. Their calendars consisted of 13 days per week and 13 cycles of 400 years each which has been misinterpreted by some of its followers as the lifespan of the world to be only 5200 years.

A carved stone found in Tortuguero, a Mayan ruin site in Mexico, has created all this rumor.

Other Mayan ruin sites found are Guatemala City, El Salvador of Mexico, the French village of Bugarech, and Alta Paraiso in Central Brazilian highlands.

At present, Mayan culture has almost vanished.

Their calendar has also ended and it is a new beginning for them in the new world.

So, next time when you hear predictions about the end of the world, don't get bewildered.

Simply dismiss such news as false rumors.

Be confident that the world will last for more and more thousands and lakhs of years ahead and it will not end so soon.

SO  BE  HAPPY!

MOGALIREKULU - A TV Serial With High Social and Moral Values of Life

A great Telugu Mega TV Serial named MOGALIREKULU is on the air for more than four years on Gemini TV ( Telugu ) channel. It is great because its story is centered around the unparalleled ethical and moral values of society. It is great because it is based on a novel of the great Telugu Novel Writer Yuddhanapudi Sulochana Rani. She is one of the greatest writers of novels based on the social and ethical values of life. Her characters are superb in all her novels. Her imagination spins great male and female characters possessed with very gentle and moral values and yet arrogant and dominant to the circumstances. And, the screenplay has been beautifully spiced up with nice and appealing dialogues by Bindu Naidu which added more colors to the serial.

The title was very suitably chosen by the story writer as "Mogalirekulu". It represents the beautiful, fragrant flowers called Mogalirekulu which blossom in the midst of thorns and snakes but remain intact unaffected by the surroundings by spreading a good fragrance and giving beauty to the surroundings. The main characters of first-generation Dharma, Satya, Daya, Keerthana, Shanti, and Selva Swamy represent these flowers who were born and grown up in the midst of crimes, quarrels, and violence between families; but they emerged as good characters with high moral values, with infinite love, and unbreakable bondage in spite of all those oddities and sufferings they faced. And, R.K.Naidu was the most admired ideal character of all those main characters as evident from the applause and fanfare he received in a very short span of time.

In Mogalirekulu, the main hero R.K.Naidu is such a great personality. At present, he is DG of Mumbai in the story. Previously, as an ACP, he has gone through many agonies of life along with the other main hero, Dharma who is the eldest brother of R.K. Naidu's wife Shanti in the story. Both the characters are main heroes even though it was supposed by the writer that Dharma would be the main hero. Both these characters are of superb nature. They possessed all the good qualities of sweetness in voice, humbleness, respect for others and their values, loyalty, kindness, strength to face any type of situation, eagerness to help the needy, and whatnot.

Dharma was more kind-hearted and brings up his two brothers and a sister and one neighbored orphan girl with love, care, and responsibility. For their livelihood, he had to work under a contractor who was a gang leader and local Don. Dharma was very loyal to his employer who offered them food, shelter, and work. That contractor was also very friendly with him as Dharma was very loyal and protected him from all odds. But due to some incidences, their friendship breaks, and Dharma was unable to digest the fact, that this closest friend-cum-employer Selvarajan and his mother Gomathi were behind their and their family's destruction. His conscience does not want to believe this. But it was a fact. There was a lot of inner conflict in his mind regarding what is right, what is wrong, what is moral, what is immoral, why people do wrong things and crimes, etc. Due to this conflict and mental confusion, he leaves all his men and goes to solitude in search of some answer for all this. His acting depicting all these feelings is great.

Similarly, The character of R.K.Naidu as a responsible police officer is very great. He deals with everything with great responsibility, keeping aloof all family matters during work. He faced many worst moments of his life during the discharge of his duties. But he was very determined, bold, smart, and cautious in all his actions and outcomes all hurdles. His character should be an exemplary example of the Khaki uniform in self-discipline, loyalty, endurance, confidence, smartness, and willpower. The police department should learn lessons by seeing this character.

All the characters in this serial are marvelous. But, what I want to stress here is their acting talents. If you watch the serial, you yourself will come to know how great their performance is.

R.K.Naidu's character is cast by M.Sagar. His action is superb. His expression of emotions at the victims of violence and injustice, his expression of loyalty and sincerity at the workplace, and his acting during dealing with his superiors in the middle stage of the story, and his present dignity as DG of Police, his habits and walking style and speaking style are best suited to the position. His other character, as Munna the missing son during blasts, and his portrayal of the character as a goonda (mafia-don) was also very fascinating. His aggressiveness as an angry young man, with a pistol and cigarette and hanging coat during his encounters for taking revenge on bad elements of society and his acting as drinker are all very naturally portrayed by him. His encounters with each and every character are very greatly performed by him with superb skill. It seems acting has come from birth to him. Nothing appears to be artificial in his expressions or movements throughout the scenes. His present portion as Mahidhar Naidu is very fascinating and you would love to watch him stuck to the small screen especially during his encounters with Gomathi.

Gomathi's role is cast by A.Sruthi. She had acted previously in other serials and movies also. Her action in this Mogalirekulu is very great and mind-blowing. Her expression of anger, cruelty, wickedness, cunning nature, etc. are so super that you feel wholly moved with her expressions and become restless to do something to prevent her from doing any harm to your other loved characters. Such is her acting talent. Her speaking style, ascent, and action are very suitable to her role and nobody else could have done so much justice to the role.

The characters of Selvaswamy and his son Ishwar are also very suitably enacted by the actors doing those roles. Previously, the Selvaswamy role was done by a person with the same name. He was of a little bit gentle and subtle nature in the beginning when Dharma was associated with him. But later on, the role required a vigorous and more stubborn personality and so the actor was changed. The present actor of Selvaswamy's role is doing greater justice to the role. His expressions of feelings are very natural and his physique and dressing style, etc. are all best suited.

The heroine character of the first-generation Meenakshi and second-generation Devi was enacted by actor Likitha who is also a good actor. Her portrayal of Meenakshi as a South Indian humble, gentle, and kind-hearted character was very good. Beauty also contributed to her action. Her action as Devi was also very superb. She was able to portray all the feelings very naturally. The present actor of Devi portion is also good at acting. She is also doing her best to suit the character.

All other actors of the characters of Sathya, Shanti, Keerthana, Durga, Pallavi, Sindhu, Shanker, Rajani, Muniyamma, Aravind, his assistant Jagdish are all doing good in their roles. And not the least, Munna's tiny and lovely friend Ali character's actor is also to be not forgotten.

On the whole, Mogalirekulu is a great TV Serial in the Telugu language and it deserves felicitations by all Telugu people. The producers of the serial M/S Srikanth Entertainment Pvt.Ltd., Director Manjula Naidu, Script and dialogues writer Bindu Naidu, original story writer Yuddhanapudi Sulochana Rani, and Gemini TV are all commendable for presenting such a marvelous work to our Telugu Viewers. Further, all the actors and staff of the serial producing company are to be complimented for their contributions.

Cigarette Smoking Is Injurious To Health - Is it A Mere Slogan?

In your daily life, you must have come across this slogan again and again.

"CIGARETTE SMOKING IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH"!

Wherever you go, let it be cinema halls, malls, offices, buses, trains, or any other public place, you are repeatedly reminded by these slogans and notices to recognize that cigarette smoking is a prohibited, bad practice as well as not good for your health.

But you never try to understand this.

Or, to put it otherwise, you do not want to understand or realize this fact as you do not like such bits of advice or morals being taught to you by people around you.

You are in false prestige that you are your master and others are trying to degrade you by giving advice.

When you go to enjoy a movie along with your family or friends, you come across this slogan again and again in the movie whenever the characters are depicted to be smoking. But neither you nor your companions bother about this. In the interval you go out, take a round of smoke and return with some snacks for your partner and children. Neither you nor the others, whoever would have just returned back having a smoke, feel even a bit of guilt-consciousness. You simply continue watching the movie and many more glimpses of that unwarranted slogan. The same thing happens when you watch your favorite TV serials on your small screen.

You have become so accustomed to this slogan, that it never strikes you that it is applicable to you also. You may be feeling it is meant for others, who might be more dangerously smoking. Or else, you may be thinking this way also that since the law is forcing them to flash the slogan, so they are twinkling it again and again, and nothing more than that. So don't bother about it.

Dangers of Smoking

But, when will you be awakening? After smoking attacks your health? Or after some other one, whom you may be loving, is attacked by it?

  • Do you ever know that a burned cigarette produces thousands of chemicals?
  • Whenever you put a cigarette in your mouth and inhale the smoke, hundreds of poisonous gases enter your body and many of them tend to cause cancer in you.
  • Further, you must remember that whenever you smoke, the smoke released will affect your companions also.
  • It is a clinically proven fact that cigarette smoking or tobacco causes cancer. It may be lung cancer, liver cancer, or even kidney cancer.

The cancer.org website provides a fully detailed report on the hazards of smoking and on the importance of quitting this unhealthy habit.

This is an updated paper by them as of 28 Oct. 2020.

Here is the link to verify how dangerous your habit is.

Develop the Willpower to Quit Smoking

So, why do you spoil your life and the life of your neighbors with this bad habit of cigarette smoking?

Why don't you leave this bad habit and contribute to their health?

Why can't you leave it?

Think of your beloved ones and try to leave it for their sake.

It may be very hard to leave the habit in a single attempt. But, you can leave it step-by-step.

How to Quit Smoking

First, you reduce the number of cigarettes. If you are consuming six cigarettes a day, try to make it three or four in the first instance.

Make up your mind that you have to do this for the sake of your beloved ones. Control yourself with determination and try to divert your attention from it.

Make yourself a bit stubborn. Adopt some other alternate habits like having fruit juice, eating fruits, or something healthy with that money. Slowly, reduce the number to two, then only one, and Nil.

  • All that you need here is willpower. The will to quit this smoking habit.

  • The will to do something good for your beloved ones.

  • The will to make them happy and healthy and thereby improving your health also.

So, the next time when you go for purchasing a cigarette pack, please do think over the slogan on it, then think about your beloved ones ( some of them might be in heaven also) and have some care for them.
Then, you will definitely be able to leave this bad habit of smoking.

Nothing is hard or impossible. If you have the willpower and a sense of feeling for your beloved ones, you can definitely quit smoking.

Stop and Think - Whither We Are Going

Nowadays, the lifestyle of most of us people has become a show buzz. It's a platform of display and exhibitionism. Full of materialistic and physical notions. We tend to measure everything materialistically in terms of money, prestige, glamour, and social status. There is No Value for age, virtue, and wisdom of the person.

All our actions are centered around one goal. How to make money and how to establish our position in society. All other values are set at rest

And, to maintain your status, you try to earn more and more money, purchase more property and assets, adapt to the latest fashion of clothes, and to the so-called modern and contemporary western culture and social habits. All this at the cost of your own culture and heritage. Our age-old culture and knowledge get dumped into a corner by such pursuers of modern culture.

.

Stop and Think

Why all this race for money, status, fashion, and glamour?

What will you get in all this pursuit? Instead of Tensions!

You will always be racing for this and that; and, don't have any time to rest or to enjoy it.

Further, the more money you earn, the more is tension in handling and managing it.

You will be scared of losing it. You Can't have good sleep and will be restless always.

The same thing happens to the pursuer of status also.

You always indulge in competition with your companions and look at them suspiciously.
You can't be friends with them and enjoy their company.
You try to be aloof from them in order to maintain your status.

You will be losing happiness and satisfaction in your family and circles also.

This race for money and status or prestige in society- these are all causes of dissatisfaction, greed, anger, irritation, and whatnot.

The desire for money makes you restless. You try to work overtime and take up more jobs. It will decrease your efficiency and deteriorate your health also.

Thereby, you develop mental tensions and irritations in your family. You can not be happy and find fault with everybody.

Moreover, if you are indulging in false prestige and fashions and increasing your spending, it may result in more demand for money and increased pressure and tension on you.

Further, you are spending on the latest designs of clothes from western-cultured markets which are too much costlier than your local indigenous products.

Thereby, you are making yourself financially overburdened. For this, you want to make more money and the quest for money never stops.

What To Do?

So, better You stop Now and Think of all this unnecessary extravaganza.

Is all this hotchpotch necessary for us to survive in this world?

Is it not enough, if we have enough money, shelter, food, and clothe which are sufficient for our livelihood?

Why am I indulging in these unnecessary accumulations of wealth and property which will not come with me when I leave my body one day?

Why give up the present happiness and mental peace for the sake of that false prestige and status?

Why not keep satisfied with whatever I get that may be sufficient for myself and my family's needs.

Instead of running for false prestige and fame, you may better try to think of the great heritage of our country, its culture, its social, ethical, and spirituals values.

Why should I keep unaware of them or ignore them? Why not take pains to understand those values and benefit from them.

Instead of running behind the materialistic aspects and glamour of the foreign culture, try to give some value to our own cultural and spiritual norms.

Indulgence in materialistic life is not enough. It is only momentary and does not provide all that kind of satisfaction that you may get by understanding and by following the ethical and spiritual values of life.

We can not carry material wealth and false prestige with us to the other world after death. Only moral and spiritual values come with us at that time. Remember this Fact.

So, think of your Happiness and Peace of Mind.

Think Twice Before Making Donations To Schools

The present atmosphere of admissions to educational institutions is such that one may have to think twice before having children. The increasing lust for convent education and the ever-increasing fees of these institutions throw a great burden on the parents of middle=income families thereby making the situation scary. When it gets combined with the attitudes of some of those affluent classes of people who are ready to throw away any amount of money to get a seat for their wardens, the things are going from bad to worst.

Gone have the days when people used to get a quality education in the municipal or government-run schools and some private institutions. Now our people have become crazy and exhibitionist. They think of their status and prestige and don't bother throwing away money. This mentality of our people is one of the reasons for all this present state of the economic crisis that we are facing and unable to come out of it.

I don't think the necessity for such an extravaganza.

Is there any lack of teaching skills in our society?

Or, the lack of educational schools and colleges in our country?

Why such mad rush and inflated demand for convent education?

Is there more quality in them than our ordinary educational institutions?

Where is the need for going on pushing their fee structures to the sky-heights?

Let us think reasonably. Assume you are establishing a convent school with education from LKG to Class V. What you want is 7 rooms for teaching, one room for the Principal, one room for an office, and one more room for teachers to take lunch or spend leisure hours in between their turns. Besides these, we need the required furniture for these rooms like student desks, chairs, and tables.  Let us assume that the cost of furniture and other expenditure incurred for registration and obtaining the permit for running the school are a one-time expenditures that shall be recovered in a long run. Then, there is the monthly rent say 25000/-, salaries total of 50000/- roughly (for total 10 persons) including principal, and other electricity sanitation, etc. say 5000/-?- Thus the total monthly expense will come to around 80,000/- only.

Now, if there are 7 classes and 40 students in each class, and if you charge a monthly fee of Rs.300/- per student, the total fee receipts will be 84,000/- (280 X 300 = 84,000).

So, all your expenses can be met with that fees only.

Now, you can charge slightly higher fees for the higher classes which will be your sole income. It will not burden the parents much.

From the above calculation, you can clearly see that there is no loss even if you are charging lower fees. The reimbursement of your one-time capital expenditure and other time-to-time expenses can also be recovered very easily by slightly adjusting the fee structure.

So, where is the need to pay huge amounts of fees and the need for larger donations? Isn't it simply an extravaganza?

The above is merely an example to show how you can calculate things and make decisions.

You can calculate in your own way and act according to your prudence. Any suggestions and comments are always welcome.

So, you better think twice or even thrice before making unnecessary large sums to your schools and colleges. It will only result in inflation of things in the long run.

Log On To Your Soul, Do Not Neglect It

In our daily day-to-day life, we are running overburdened with too many activities due to which we often get irritated and stuck up with unsolicited problems.

Our quest for material pleasures never ends and there is no ending of desires.  We never stop even after possessing all those comforts required for a happy life. We always try to be more wealthy or more famous than our neighbors and relatives. Thereby, we are only making our lives more uncomfortable and worrisome.

What is the need for that much wealth, position, and a band of servants behind us?

Do you think all this remains with you forever?  And it will be with you wherever you go?

No, not at all!

At some point in time, you will be noticing that all our wealth is of no use. Everything will be of zero value when such a situation arises.

No one will be able to solve his problems in spite of all that enormous material wealth possessed by him. He might need some helping hand to solve any such problem and maybe looking for help from God.

So why not wake up earlier?

In spite of lamenting later, why not strengthen ourselves from now on?

Let us be more powerful with some spiritual wealth instead of running after all these material possessions.

The real wealth that will be with you and come with you forever is your spirituality. It is the most reliable wealth which you should acquire and own.

That only can give you immense strength and eternal happiness. You can rely on this wealth with utmost confidence more than all your material possessions.

Now how to acquire this spiritual possession and develop intimacy with God?

For this purpose, you will have to log on to your soul.

Here, the Soul is the Atman or the Spiritual Mind which is free of all material obstacles and attachments.

Lord Sri Krishna has said in Bhagavad Gita, again and again, that Soul or Atman has no beginning nor end. It is there before your birth and will be there after your death and will be the light showing you the path in whichever form you are.

So, wake up now and log on to your soul. The password and key for getting entry into this Soul is Introspection.

  • You can enter into your soul or mind through your self-introspection.
  • You make friends with your soul. You interact with it.
  • Review all your actions performed till now.
  • Discuss them with your Soul. Analyze them.
  • Distinguish between right and wrong, correct and incorrect, mature and immature, sensible and insensible, etc.
  • Once you are able to analyze like this, it will be very clear to you how foolish and ignorant you have been all these years.

You will come to realize that all this materialistic world is an illusion. It is alluring your senses and dragging you towards physical attachments and emotions. It is making you believe that you are the boss of all your actions.

Now, you gradually begin to introspect within yourself and gradually come to know that there is some spiritual power behind all your actions.

It prompts you to act.

It makes you perform a certain act in a certain way and not the other way.

It guides you each and every moment.

It is the spiritual mind or soul or the Atman whatever you may call it. It will guide you to the eternal peace and happiness that you can find nowhere else.

Be Sensible- Don't Get Flown Away By Emotions

Sensibility means being rational and being conscious of whatever you are doing as well as keeping an awareness of others' feelings.

You must be aware of your surroundings whenever you do something or express something either through your words or actions. You must think of others around you and of the civilized society that you live in whenever you speak something or do something. You must be aware of the consequences of your acts, words used, and reactions.

That is sensibility. Sensibility reflects your personality.

Sensibility vs Sensitivity

Sensitivity is a feeling of being vulnerable to your environment or being too much attached to it.

But, Sensibility is the awareness of being conscious of your surroundings during all your actions and deeds.

  • People are sensitive and emotional by birth.
  • But Sensibility comes with maturity.
  • Sensibility shows your level of maturity, your culture, and your civilization.
  • Sensitivity shows your weakness or softness often.

Now, coming to the point of our present topic, some recent speeches and statements of our prominent personalities and their actions/reactions have prompted me to write this article. I may not want to take their names or disclose them but in general, I would like to draw their attention too to my topic. I wonder how could such prominent and mature people ( maybe most people think them to be so ), could utter such insensible statements in our society and make irrelevant references which downgrade their personality and that too on public platforms.

Nowadays, politics has become the ground field of some insensible people.

Not a single day passes without some strike, some dharna, some group clash, etc.

Politics has spread in every field. Schools, Colleges, Working places, Temples, Sports. All our world has got polluted with politics.

Everywhere there is the nasty habit of falling into groups and clashing with one another on irrelevant matters. The Twitter wars are good examples of this nasty habit.

All this is the result of the insensibility of people. Insensibility leads to indulging in various undesirable acts and destructive mentalities leading to clashes among groups and destruction of public property.

Take the instance of our public and/or students participating in some rally for some cause like separate statehood for their region, or for expressing their resentment against the construction of a particular dam, or some other social or political cause. Instead of taking out their procession peacefully, they indulge in stone-pelting at police and public properties like buses, shopping malls, etc. Is it not a sign of their insensibility and a lack of their reasoning power?

If they could think a while before indulging in such activities, they could have realized that they are destroying their own daily usage property and troubling their own people by doing so. They are hindering the normal functioning of schools and colleges, disrupting the transportation services which could affect the daily life of themselves, their children, friends and relatives and all their society. This is due to a lack of sensibility.

Not only that. We often witness noisy scenes, abusive word usages, and breaking of furniture, etc. on floors of our Parliament and Assembly sessions. One can observe how absurd our MPs and MLAs have become. Why do they lose their senses for the sake of a trivial matter? Why can't they behave in a mature manner? They could solve their differences in a peaceful way. By mere bench thumping, furniture breaking, or creating a ruckus, they can't get anything. It expresses only their insanity.

And, what about the social media platform? There also you can see how cheap and irrational these people are with their senseless tweets and hate messages.

All these things are clear examples of how insensible we are becoming day by day.

So, I once again stress the need for sensibility in all our actions/deeds, speeches/writings, and even in our clothing also.

Let us create a good atmosphere in our society through our rational, sensible, good cultured, and civilized behavior and activities.

Death: A Silent, Stealthy Attacker

All of us know that death is inevitable. One should remember this fact always.

It is a mortal world. Whoever is born into this world has to die. No one can escape it.

All the Medical innovations, all Scientific advancements, and all the Spiritual rituals and Prayers are all null at death. Whatever you may do, you can't avoid death.

Lord Krishna in Bhagavad-Gita emphasized this fact to Arjuna and asked him not to lay down his Bow and Arrows in the Mahabharata with the grief of having to kill his kith and kin in the battle.

He emphasized the fact that death for each one has been already pre-decided and Arjuna's arrows are only a tool for accomplishing the already decided fate of those people.

So, death is pre-decided already at the time of the birth of each and every one of us.

When Death is an inevitable end of every Birth why should I worry to die? Why do you break up at the death of any of your dear ones? It is natural to feel and experience the loss of company and love. But don't get too much depressed or worried at the loss.

Death Wants to Panic You But Be Brave

But, it is a fact that death occurs at a time when you are unaware of it in most cases.

It does not come to you straightforwardly.
It doesn't provide you some hints.
It doesn't even warn you before attacking.
It attacks you suddenly and stealthily.

Death finds some means to attack you. When you are well prepared and wait for it, it does not come to you.

It attacks you stealthily, when you are confident that Death is not so much nearer to you, and when you are careless about it.

Death Creates Means for Attack

Death wants some reason or some circumstance through which it can pounce on you. It enters you through some sickness, some accident, some natural calamity, etc. so that you may think that because of this reason the death took place.

As evident from Lord Krishna's teachings in Bhagavad-gita to Arjuna, the death to Kauravas enters through the medium of Arjuna's arrows. It is only an excuse. Because people always live in ignorance and do not realize that Death is a natural outcome of Birth. So, they keep thinking that death occurred due to such and such a reason only.

But, it is not the reality. We should come out of this ignorance and realize that Death is inevitable once you are born.

Death is the ultimate destination for any person who comes on this earth.

Even God, when takes avatars on this Earth, has to end his avatar through the form of Death. Sri Rama has ended his life by entering into the Sarayu River and Sri Krishna with the shot of an arrow that has been released from the bow of a hunter.

So, Death is the ultimate truth just like a Birth.

Do not get bewildered by death. If you are born, you have to die.

But always remember that Death is only for the physical form that you are in.

Bhagavad-Gita clearly states that Atma in your body is Eternal. It has no Death.

Death is only for the physical body.

It is just like changing your clothes when they get spoiled.

Here, you are changing your body. But the inner Soul is the same. It does not change or perish.

So be not afraid of Death.

Be prepared for your final journey always and face it with a smile and warm welcome.

Sachin Tendulkar's Cricket Career Records

There has been much talk about Sachin Tendulkar's retirement from cricket in November 2012. This was very bad news for cricket-loving fans. And especially for those who are his great fans and adore him very much. He is one of the world's greatest cricketers of history and the contemporary period and our greatest hero also for always. We are so much emotionally attached to his cricket achievements that we were unable to think of Indian cricket without him.

Sachin Tendulkar is the only player in cricket history to have hit 100 centuries in International Cricket Matches.

We watched his strokes of fours and sixes so emotionally and excitedly that we even stopped taking the breath whenever his bat met the ball. He has hit such wonderful shots. His strokes have always been well planned and very smart ones. Even the greatest bowler was afraid of his strokes and whatever tricks they employed in their bowling they were unable to beat him.

Whenever he played, the stadiums were overcrowded and those watching on TV were glued to their sets. His fans were much emotional with their tears rolling down, that they watched his game as if they were playing the game. He has achieved so many records at such a tender age that no other great player has achieved. It is very disappointing that we miss his play now. If age did not come in the middle, he could have played for some more years.

He retired from ODI in November 2012 and from Test cricket in November 2013.

Now, if he retires what will be the future of Indian cricket we can not say definitely. But there is the saying that nothing stops because of one's exit. Cricket will continue to be played and watched even after his retirement with the same emotion and anxiety. But, perhaps most of his fans may not find that much interest in the game for some period. Perhaps such brilliant strokes may not be there. The shouts of "Sachin", "Sachin" will not be there to which we have become accustomed. Even the bowlers of other countries may not find so much enjoyment and anxiety as they felt during their bowling to Sachin.
