In this post, I am providing the lyrics for Sai Baba Kakad Aarati which is performed in the morning time by devotees of the Lord. These lyrics were composed by Sri Krishna Jogiswar Bhishma, an ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba. Each hymn is provided with it's English meaning immediately after it.
There is another version of the aarati composed by Sant Tukaram, which I may provide in another post with full meanings.
Kakad Aarti Lyrics
Kaakad aarati kareeto Sainaatha Deva
Chinmaya roop daakhavi ghewuni balak laghu sewa
Kaam krodh mad matsar aattunee kaakada kela
Vairagyache toop ghaaluni mee to bhijaveela
Sainaath Guru bakti jwalane mee to petawila
Tad vritti jaluni guroo ne prakaash paadila
Dwaita tama naasooni milavi tatsvaroopi jeeva
Chinmaya kaakad aarati ... (1)
Meaning:-
Let me perform Kakad Aarti, O Lord, Sai Baba! Please show me your pure handsome form and accept this small service from me.
Renouncing my lust, anger, ego, and jealousy, I am entwining them into a wick. Soaking the wick with my pure ghee-like asceticism, I have lit it with the spark of devotion for you, O Sainath Guru.
On burning up the vices, you have blessed me with the Light. Now, please destroy the darkness of duality from me and merge me with Thee.
O, Pure and Handsome! Let me perform Kaakad Aarati.
Bhoochar kechar vyaapooni awaghe hritkamali raahasi
Tochi datta deva tu shiridee raahuni paavasi
Rahooni yethe anayatrahitoo bhaktaastava dhaawasi
Nirasooniya sankata daasaaa anubhava daavisi
Na kale tvalleelahi konya devaa vaa maanavaa
Chinmaya kaakad aarati ... (2)
Meaning:-
Pervading all over the universe, you live in our hearts too. You are the Datta Deity living in Shirdi and blessing us.
Though you live here in Shirdi, you are racing to your devotees living elsewhere to protect them. After removing or destroying their problems, you make them experience your presence.
Nobody can understand or grasp your divine plays, neither Gods nor Human beings.
O Pure and Handsome! Please let me perform Kaakad aarati.
Tvadhyashaa dundubheene saare ambar henkodalen
Sagun moorti paahanyaa aatur jan shirdi aalen
Paasuni tvaghcharnaamrut amuche dehbhaan harpalen
shoduniyaan durabhimaan maanas tvachcharanee vahilen
kripaa karuniyaa Saaimaaule daas padari dhyaavaa
Chinmaya kaakad aarati ... (3)
Meaning:-
Your glories, sung by the devotees, are resounding in all directions of the universe like the beating of the drums.
To possess a glimpse of your divinely form, eager people are coming to Shirdi.
Being oblivious of their own bodies on hearing your nectar-like words of teachings, they have surrendered at your feet abandoning all their ego.
Have mercy, O Sai Mother (God is both Father & Mother). Please keep me as a sevant at your feet.
O Pure and Handsome! Please let me perform Kaakad aarati.
